How It Works
STEP 3. Complete 500 miles by October 31.
STEP 4. Optional, apply for a grant.
Just so you know...500 miles, or 805 km, is about 7,500 steps per day for five months.
Host a 500 Mile Event
A "Get People Moving" Event!
🟣 Create an event in your school or community where a group walks 500 miles in a day or a weekend.
🔵 YOU organize the event including the date, the location, the promotion and the event day volunteers.
🟢 THE FOUNDATION provides banners, posters, promotion on-line, giveaways and support behind the scenes.
🟠 Funds collected are divided between your organization and the foundation. Additionally, you may also apply for a grant.
A "Get People Thinking" Event!
🟣 Invite Trina, our president, to speak at a your school, community or professional organization.
🔵 Speaking engagements can include discussion groups and workshops or include a local co-speaker.
🟢 Topics might include Humane Leadership in Building a Safer Workplace, Connecting Physical and Mental Health, Mental Health Toolkits for Children and Youth

Grants are awarded based on how closely a proposed project supports the purpose of the foundation.
Grants must support mental health projects for youth 8-18
Grants are funded entirely by donations through events and participants in the 500 mile challenge
